Thorough Assessment and Tailored Solutions
This project spanned six schools across the Live Oak School District. Each school had a variety of HVAC equipment, including water source units, package units, split systems, and PTACs. This diversity required a tailored approach for each system to ensure optimal performance. When we first surveyed the systems, we found them in deplorable condition—completely neglected. Years of improper maintenance had led to excessive repair costs with no real improvements. Our team conducted a detailed assessment of each system, identifying inefficiencies and areas needing immediate attention.
Cleaning Coils and Improving Efficiency
One of the main issues we encountered was filthy coils, which were severely restricting airflow and forcing systems to work harder than necessary. Cleaning the coils not only improved the efficiency of the units but also resulted in immediate comfort improvements.
Teachers in one school noted a significant difference in the classroom temperatures after our work. The rooms became noticeably cooler, and the “complaints” quickly shifted from being too hot to being happily cold!
